Bat Eco Services
All Irish bat species are legally protect under the Irish Wildlife Act (1976 and 2000 Amendment) and are listed on the Annex II (lesser horseshoe bat only) and Annex IV (all other bat species) of the EU Habitats Directive. It is an offence to willfully interfere with their roosts, breeding sites and resting places. Planning authorities are required to take into account the presence of protect species, including bats, when considering applications for planning permission.
